The Tale of Ravi and the Mysterious Owl
Once upon a time, in the vibrant village of Sundarpur, nestled among lush green fields, there lived a young boy named Ravi. Ravi was a curious and kind-hearted boy, but he faced a challenge at school that made his days tough. A group of older boys often bullied him, calling him names and making fun of his small stature.
One day, feeling particularly downhearted, Ravi went for a walk along the edge of the village. He soon found himself under the sprawling canopy of a magnificent banyan tree. Perched on one of its sturdy branches was a wise old owl, rumored to possess magical powers.
As Ravi sat beneath the tree, he began to hear a gentle hoot. To his surprise, it was the owl speaking to him! "Why do you look so sad, dear child?" the owl asked in a soft, soothing voice.
Ravi poured out his heart to the owl, sharing his troubles about the bullying. The owl listened patiently and then asked, "What do you think makes a person truly strong, Ravi?"
Question: What do you think? Is it muscles, kindness, or something else?
Ravi pondered for a moment and replied, "I think true strength comes from kindness and courage."
The owl seemed pleased with his answer. "You are wise beyond your years, Ravi. Remember, by being kind, you have the power to change hearts."
The next day, back at school, when the bullies approached Ravi, he tried something new. Instead of showing fear, he greeted them with a smile and complimented them on their cricket skills. Surprised, the bullies were taken aback. Slowly, they began to see Ravi not as a target, but as a friend.
Over time, Ravi's kindness transformed the bullies. Inspired by Ravi's example, they stopped teasing and even began helping others.
Question: What do you think would happen if everyone chose kindness over bullying?
Moral of the Story
Ravi learned that true strength lies in kindness and that sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is to treat others with compassion, even when they are unkind.
