"The Stars Who Learned to Share"
High above the clouds, in the sparkly Great Sky Meadow, lived two little stars named Twinko and Glint. They were born just seconds apart, and every night they played in the sky together.
But Twinko liked to show off. “Look at me!” she would say, zipping across the sky in a spiral. “I made the moon giggle again!”
Glint didn’t like that. “You always go first,” he grumbled. “I never get to be the moon’s favorite.”
And just like that, their shine would turn into a shadow. Twinko would sparkle louder. Glint would swirl away in a pout. The other stars started to notice.
One night, a shimmering streak dashed past them. It was the Shooting Star.
“Why do you always fight?” asked the Shooting Star gently.
Twinko and Glint looked at each other and shrugged.
“We just want to be the best,” Glint said. “I want to be the brightest star!”
“There’s no prize for being brightest,” the Shooting Star laughed. “But there’s magic in shining together.”
💭 Question Time: Have you ever wanted to be the best at something—so much that you forgot how fun it is to play together?
That night, Twinko and Glint tried something new. Twinko twirled in a loop. Glint zipped beneath her, forming a glowing figure-eight. The moon laughed so hard it turned pink!
The stars clapped and cheered. Twinko and Glint beamed.
“Maybe sharing the sky isn’t so bad,” Twinko said.
Glint grinned. “Maybe shining together makes us even brighter.”
From that day on, they became the best team in the sky—taking turns, helping each other, and spreading giggles across the galaxy.
Do you have a sibling or friend you sometimes argue with? What do you think would happen if you shared instead of competed?
Moral of the story: When we stop trying to be the best and start trying to be kind, everyone shines a little brighter.
